2. Punch Biopsy

Using a circular device, I remove a full-thickness sample of skin, including the epidermis, dermis, and often the subcutis. This comprehensive tissue sample allows me to assess deeper layers of the skin, providing a complete picture for accurate diagnosis.

3. Incisional Biopsy

An incisional biopsy is typically performed when I need a larger, deeper sample of skin. During this procedure, I remove an elliptical section of skin using a scalpel blade, and stitches are usually required to close the wound. This method is ideal for deeper or larger lesions where a more extensive tissue sample is necessary for diagnosis.

4. Excision Biopsy

An excision biopsy involves the complete removal of a skin lesion, including a margin of surrounding tissue. I often use this technique for suspected skin cancers, as removing a larger area ensures the lesion is fully excised and reduces the risk of recurrence. After excision, I suture the wound and send the tissue for histopathological examination.

5. Mole Excision

Mole excision is a common procedure I perform to remove suspicious moles that could potentially turn into skin cancer, or simply for cosmetic reasons. I excise the mole along with a margin of surrounding tissue, then send it for analysis to ensure it is free of malignancy.

6. Lesion Removal

Whether it’s a benign growth, wart, or cyst, lesion removal is a procedure I perform to eliminate unwanted or potentially harmful skin lesions. I use advanced techniques to minimise scarring and ensure effective results, carefully removing the lesion and sending it for analysis if needed.
